Atlanta SPIN

Atlanta SPIN was chartered in 1994 and since then has been an influential voice for software process improvement in the Atlanta metro area. Atlanta SPIN meets every third Wednesday of the month, except November and December, when the meetings are held on the second Wednesday. Meetings typically attract individuals with a background in software development with specialization in business analysis, quality assurance, software development or management of IT personnel. The meetings provide a forum for like-minded people interested in learning from others and sharing their own experiences about process improvement, quality assurance, software development methodologies and other related topics.

International Institute for Software Testing

The International Institute for Software Testing (IIST) is an educational and professional development organization that has been founded to meet the following goal: "To promote a disciplined approach to software testing and to caution against ad hoc testing by non-qualified individuals and groups."

To Acheive this goal, IIST operates according to the following charter:

  • To promote and provide education and certification of software testing professionals around the world.

International Institute for Software Process

The International Institute for Software Process (IISP) is an educational, professional development, and consulting organization that aims at promoting practical methods and approaches to software process improvement. IISP does not promote a specific approach or model to SPI. Instead, IISP takes a pragmatic approach which utilizes some of the most practical methods to produce better results faster and cheaper. To reach its goal, IISP, with the guidance of its industry advisory board has developed the Software Process Improvement Body of Knowledge (SPIBOK™), which serves as the basis for the International Software Process Improvement Certification (ISPIC™).

PMI Westchester Chapter

Southern California Quality Assurance Association Inland Empie Chapter (SCQAA-IE)

Southern California Quality Assurance Association Orange County(SCQAA-OC)

The mission of SCQAA-OC is to promote the sharing of information relating to software quality practices, principles, concepts and methods for the betterment of its memebers and their companies. Silicon Valley SPIN

The Silicon Valley Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN) is comprised of individuals who are focused on improving the software engineering practice. This forum of software technologist and process practitioners gather monthly to share their experiences in initiating and sustaining software process improvement programs.


The Silicon Valley SPIN is a forum for the free and open exchange of software process improvement ideas and practical experiences. We promote achieving higher levels of process maturity, software quality, and mutual respect. Our goal is to enhance the skills and support technology transition through an active program of networking, publications, recognition of excellence, and mutual support.

The Silicon Valley SPIN has a general membership of approximately 350 individuals from throughout the Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay Area, with an average monthly meeting attendance of about 20 to 40. SPIN meetings are held at Cisco Systems from 5:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. the last Wednesday of every month (except holidays). Each meeting addresses a specific topic. Flyers providing details on the meeting topic as well as logistical information are mailed electronically and posted to the events calendar at least one week prior to the meeting. Previous topics have included the Capability Maturity Model®, PSPSM, metrics, change management, requirements management, customer satisfaction, and ISO 9001. The events calendar details the dates, topics, and presenters for all meetings. The Silicon Valley SPIN currently has no fees; all meetings are open and free to all software process practitioners and their associates.



TCQAA is a local Twin Cities non-profit organization dedicated to the proliferation of knowledge of software testing and process. We dedicate ourselves and our resources to the promotion of software testing techniques, tools, processes, and technologies and the advancement of software testing as a profession.

Located in the metropolitan area of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, TCQAA has been supporting software organizations and information technology professionals since 1986.
